Mini Charity Health Check

Our mini Charity Health Check reviews 9 key areas of charity functioning and gives you high and medium priority recommendations to take forward*

*only available to charities with an income under £250,000.


  • One day onsite or remote with your staff and Board, including up to 6 hours of consultation and 1 final hour to deliver the key recommendations

  • A thorough review of your charity in relation to its:

    • strategy and planning,

    • organisational systems and standards,

    • staff management and performance,

    • finances,

    • fundraising,

    • approach to digital,

    • communications

    • partnership working, and

    • volunteers.


  • 2–3 page summary report highlighting top strengths as well as high and medium recommendations to be taken forward

  • Presenting recommendations report to the Board via skype or telephone at another time = additional £200

  • Presenting report at a Board meeting = additional £200 + travel time + expenses

Standard Charity Health Check

Our standard Charity Health Check meets the National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) Building Capabilities funding requirements and is one of the most comprehensive and affordable examples on the market. Our standard service includes a comprehensive analysis of your charity's situation, providing detailed recommendations and context.


  • Full desktop review of charity documents, including:

    • annual report

    • constitution

    • strategic plan and

    • key policies

  • One day onsite - or up to eight hours of remote consultations - with your staff and Board members, gathering information and input


  • Internal report (typically 25-30 pages) including 2-page Executive Summary, priority-ranked recommendations, situational analysis and history and full organisational review focussing on where action is required in the following areas:

    • strategy and planning

    • organisational systems and standards

    • staff management and performance

    • finances

    • fundraising

    • approach to digital

    • communications

    • partnership working, and

    • volunteers.

    Your report includes practical and helpful recommendations made for future action, ranked in accordance with priority level and theme.

Deep dive reviews are available in a range of areas to ensure that your leadership or Board knows exactly where your charity is at, and what needs attention.
